Let me introduce myself, I’m a Mum, Wife, Daughter, Cook, Cleaner, Driver, Multi-tasker etc…sound familiar?

But I’m also a Date Night Diner looking for exciting places to eat, drink and visit with my better half in and around Guildford. Attempting to turn the rare date night into a regular occasion, to give us the time and space with need as a couple and escape what can sometimes feel like the humdrum of family life.

For the past 5 years, like many other Mums, I’ve put my son first in everything we do. From the weekly shop, weekend plans, family holidays and finding #workthatworks.

He’s my world but sometimes I’d like a cheeseboard that doesn’t contain a Babybel or to eat a meal without uttering the words “Please eat your dinner and try something green!’

Don’t get me wrong, we’ve had date nights since Little Diner arrived but they’re sporadic and we always end up going to the same places as they’re safe options. Plus we don’t want to be far away from home in case of that call from the babysitter (shudder!).

Over the next 12 months, I’ll be taking a culinary journey away from Guildford High Street and trying out something new. I’ll be capturing the places we visit and the date nights we try. And if I inspire you to do the same, please tell me about it, as I’d love to hear your experience.

I’ll be connecting with local independent restaurants, bars and venues to share the latest news and ideas for planning your next date night.

I’ll be putting the cosy jog bottoms aside in favour of some date night style, sharing outfit, beauty and make-up tips.

But most importantly, ensuring some quality time with Mr Diner. To strengthen our marriage, communication and togetherness. He’s my bestie after all.

I love a bargain as much as the next person, so I’ll be doing my best to dig out the latest offers to sweeten the bill at the end of your evening. And sampling #dateathome options that don’t break the bank.

I’m looking for tips and recommendations from you, as I’d rather hear what you think than read a corporate review. So if you’ve had a date night that was a great night, share it and add #datenightdiscoveries and / or @mention me in your Facebook, Instagram or Twitter post and I’ll share that as well.
